Oh my... it's been far too long!

Wow! I am so sorry about how long it has been since I have posted. First there was nothing going on for me to talk about, then I got so busy I didn't have time to post, and then our computer died and I had to wait until the new one got here this week.

Like I said I have gotten very busy because now I have not just one but TWO jobs, and for those who know me well you know that is a huge thing!  I started as a substitute teacher at the middle school here about three weeks ago. The school is just down the street from my house so I am able to walk to work on days that Daniel needs the car. I absolutely love working there. The students are great and the staff is so welcoming. After my first week there they also offered me a second part time position as a tutor with their AVID program. AVID is an elective class that students who are smart but aren't reaching their potential work to improve their study and organization skills. There are three of us tutors and the teacher in the classroom. In each of the two AVID classes I have my own group of students that I am in charge of and I keep track of their grades plus check in with them on how they are doing in their other classes. They are a great group of kids and I have been enjoying working with them so far. I do that job every other day plus get called in to sub whenever the need me. Last week I worked every day and next week I am already scheduled for four out of the five days so far. Working at the middle school has been wonderful and has helped me to see that when I was on track working towards becoming an elementary school teacher that I was on the wrong path and I now see that I am meant to work in a middle school. So I am preparing to start on my masters and work my way towards becoming a middle school math or science teacher. I am so glad that God put me on this path so that I am now able to see where I truly belong instead of finishing at Longwood and being stuck as an elementary school teacher.

Luna is not a huge fan of both of us being away the majority of the day but she does love the long periods of time I let her out in the yard to romp in the snow when I get home each day. Daniel and I are both over the snow and are ready for some warmer weather but Luna could not be happier! It is so cute to watch her sprint around in it, then shove her head in it followed by rolling around in it until she finds the perfect position for just laying in it. She is just so adorable but I still can't wait until we are done with the snow! We bought some really nice patio furniture last week so I am anxious for the snow to be gone so we can set it all up and spend time using it and the grill we have! Also once the weather is nicer we will finally get around to doing some real exploring! I have so much that I want to see but the weather just makes me want to stay inside. I hope at some point I will get used to the cold, but knowing me probably not!

In other news I was able to go on my first real adventure with some bible study friends this month. They took me to a town called Muggendorf where we were able to check out a nutcracker store and then had lunch at a neat little hotel. It was so delicious and so exciting to get to see a new area! It made me want to learn to really speak German even more. They offer a class on post that is a week long but I will not be able to take it until the summer since I have been working so much but I will definitely be taking it!

I know I will hopefully stay busy with work in the next couple months but I will try to post some more pictures for everyone and as the weather get better and we get out more I definitely will have more to share!
